Dear friend,
I want you to take a minute and honestly examine yourself and ask
yourself these questions. Ask yourself “If I died today,
where will I go? What is my destiny? How am I shaping my destiny?”
You might want to do this in a quiet place when you are alone.
Friend, we often worry too much about the little things in life,
about an education, about a job, about a wife....
Even though these
things are important, we usually forget the most important question
to ask and get answer to, which is “Where do I go from here? Where
do I spend eternity?”
You may be like many and personally don’t believe that God exists,
or that there is heaven and hell. The fact is, we are so little in
the scheme of things that whether we believe in any of these things
or not, they exist anyway. Nothing changes. For example, in some
countries, a lot of people don’t believe that there is a disease
like HIV/AIDS. The truth is that their belief or non-belief has no
bearing on the existence of the disease. That is, the disease exists
whether they believe it or not. The only trouble is that because
they don’t believe, they live their lives having unprotected sex and
other practices that enhance contraction of the disease. When they
do, they surely die. And the disease continues to exist when they
are gone, just as if they had never existed. The disease just
doesn’t “notice or cares”. This is exactly what happens to us when
we don’t believe in God. God exists anyway. The bible says that we
are just a mist that appears today and is gone tomorrow.
God
continues to exist whether we believe him or not. The only one that
looses anything is the one that fails to believe, like with HIV/AIDS
example, they live their lives the way they want and end up in death
(hell). That’s exactly what the bible says about sin, “the wages of
sin is death (hell)” …”But the gift of God is eternal life through
Christ Jesus our Lord”
Dear friend, I don’t say these things to scare you or to coax you
into anything. But rather, to get you thinking about something that
is important. Yes, very important.
The bible says God will judge the world. Again, he will do it
whether we believe it or not. Our belief or unbelief has nothing to
do. It really doesn’t count.
The bible also
says that God will judge by using his law, the Ten Commandments.
Because God is perfect, holy, and just, only
those who have never broken any of them will get into heaven. The
rest will go to hell. Here are some of the laws God will use
Thou shall have no other gods before me.
Thou shall
not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.
Thou shall not kill
Thou shall not commit adultery
Thou shall not steal
Thou shall not bear false
witness against your neighbor
Thou shall not covet your neighbor’s house.
Thou shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his manservant, or his
maidservant, or anything that is thy neighbors.
Jesus said if
you have ever looked on a woman with lost, then you have committed
adultery with her in your heart. If you have ever taken anything
that it doesn’t belong to you, ever, even when you were still a
child, then you have stolen, and you’re a thief before God. I can go
on and on interpreting these laws. But the point is, no one on earth
can ever live a perfect life that will make them good before God.
Now what, we are all going to hell then? No! Because of God’s love,
and because God is just (justice) and cannot allow criminals to go
unpunished, he himself took our punishment. That all we need to do
is BELIEVE that he received our punishment and make him our God. If
we just BELIEVE, then we will go to heaven. If we don’t just
BELIEVE, we go to hell. How simple, eh? Well, you can believe today
and go to heaven. I mean right now, you can change your destiny,
from hell to heaven. If you want to do that, say the following
prayer and mean every word.
"Dear Jesus, I believe in You. I believe You are the Son of God,
that You died for my sins, to take my punishment. I believe that You
were buried because of my sins and rose again as written in the
Bible. I'm sorry for the things I've done that hurt You. Forgive me
for all my sins. Come into my heart, take charge of my life and make
me the way You want me to be. With Your ever present help, I
renounce all my sinful practices of the past. Cleanse my heart with
Your precious blood. Write my name in Your Book of Life. I confess
You now as my Lord and Savior. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Thank
You, Jesus! In Jesus' Name, Amen."
When you have done this, then look for a bible and start reading.
Also look for a bible based church to attend. Pray more to Jesus who
has saved you so that he can show you how to grow. Then if you need
support, call us (832-889-6605) and we will be glad to help. We love
you! |
